Firecracker Pretzel Rods

These firecracker pretzel rods are crunchy pretzels dipped in red, white, and blue candy melts with star sprinkles. They are a simple patriotic snack for 4th of July parties, cookouts, and dessert trays.

Ingredients

  • 24 pretzel rods.
  • 1 cup white candy melts.
  • 1 cup red candy melts.
  • 1 cup blue candy melts.
  • 1/4 cup red, white, and blue star sprinkles


Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment.
  • Melt the white, red, and blue candy melts in separate bowls.
  • Dip pretzel rods into the melted white candy coating and lay them on parchment.
  • Add sprinkles while the coating is wet.
  • Repeat with the red candy coating.
  • Repeat with the blue candy coating.
  • Let the coated pretzel rods set until firm.
  • Serve in jars or cups once the coating is dry.

Notes

Dip only part of each pretzel rod so there is still a plain handle to hold. Add sprinkles right after dipping each rod because the candy coating sets fast. Let the rods dry in a single layer before standing them up in a jar.
