  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 scallions, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

How To Make Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken

1. Whisk the honey garlic sauce.

Stir together the soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes until the sauce looks dark, glossy, and fully blended.

2. Add the chicken to the slow cooker.

Pile the chicken thighs into the slow cooker in an even layer so the sauce can settle around them well.

3. Pour the sauce over the chicken.

Pour the honey garlic sauce right over the chicken and make sure the top pieces get coated too.

4. Cook until the chicken is tender.

Cook on low for about 4 hours, or until the chicken looks fully tender and the sauce has deepened in color.

5. Add the scallions near the end.

Scatter in the sliced scallions so they stay bright and do not melt away into the sauce too early.

6. Stir up a cornstarch slurry if you want the sauce thicker.

Mix the cornstarch and water in a small bowl, then stir it into the cooker if you want the sauce to tighten up a little more.
