These sourdough dinner rolls bake up soft, glossy, and lightly sweet with honey, making them a cozy bread basket favorite.

Ingredients

  •  3/4 cup warm milk
  •  1/2 cup active sourdough starter
  •  2 tablespoons honey
  •  2 tablespoons melted butter, plus more for brushing
  •  3 cups allpurpose flour
  •  1 teaspoon salt


Instructions

  • Stir the warm milk and sourdough starter together in a bowl.
  • Mix in the honey and melted butter.
  • Add the flour and salt, then mix into a rough dough.
  • Knead until smooth and let the dough rise until puffy.
  • Divide into six pieces, shape into balls, and place in a pan.
  • Let the rolls rise again until fuller.
  • Bake at 375 F for 18 to 22 minutes until golden.
  • Brush the hot rolls with melted butter.
